Top officials in Maoist-hit districts of Bihar have been asked to be cautious while touring rural area in the wake of the dramatic abduction of a district collector in Orissa. “The government had made it clear to the officials to take their security seriously,” an official in Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s office said Saturday. Arjun Munda won the Kharsawa by poll in Jharkhand by over 17,000 votes Thursday, clearing the way for him to continue as chief minister. The Supreme Court Wednesday pulled up the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for making excuses to get an adjournment on a petition by Surendra Koli, sentenced to death in the Nithari serial killing case of 2006.
